Natalie Imbach, R.Psych
Welcome. I am so glad you are here. Whatever brought you here is welcome … ALL OF YOU is welcome. It is my aim to create a safe space for all of you to emerge, for all of you to begin experiencing acceptance, connection and belonging.
I am Natalie - a daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, friend, and the mother of a curious, loving and spirited young human being. I am also my own being and a Registered Psychologist in the province of Alberta. Each of these roles comes with its own history of pain and joy, needs and ever-changing responsibilities. The tension of holding space for them all, while growing in the discovery of my own being and purpose, has been one of the greatest challenges and most beautiful gifts of life. Only in the last few years have I consciously sought to surrender to the wisdom of the dynamic tension within it all. I’ve discovered I don’t have to get it “right,” that my struggle to balance all of these roles and responsibilities with my beliefs, emotions, body memory and soul does not make me inadequate, it makes me human. I often turn towards nature to remember, reconnect with and reclaim trust in the ongoing cycles and rhythms that ensure nothing ever stays the same. This is the painful, beautiful and necessary birthplace of all creativity, life, and growth.
My professional life has changed and grown through this same process over the last 25 years of working in a counselling capacity. I completed a graduate degree in Marital and Family Therapy and have been trained in, and integrate, several trauma-informed approaches. Please see below for further information regarding the models of therapy I utilize.
My role as a counselling psychologist is to create a safe space and relationship with my clients. I integrate my humanity, education and training while accompanying those I serve as they continue their journey of discovering, healing, trusting and reclaiming the wholeness that is inherent in our very creation.
I spent several years working in the field of addiction with youth and their families and later started my own practice. I have experience working with addiction, mental health, grief and loss, trauma, family/relational patterns, life transitions, and worthiness. My clinical experience includes individual, couples and family work, as well as group and workshop facilitation. Through ongoing training, personal healing and development, and the wisdom and experience clients have shared with me, I deeply trust the journey of resonance, reverence and reclamation that is embedded within us all.
